Wimbledon 2017

The current champion and two-time winner Andy Murray is opening Wimbledon for 2017. Murray will face Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan in a match from the first round of the tournament. As the current №1 in the world and seeded as №1 at Wimbledon, Murray’s goal this year could be just one – winning the most prestigious tennis tournament that ever existed.

Another two-time champion of Wimbledon is also starting his participation today. Seeded as №4 in the main draw, Rafael Nadal will face John Millman from Australia in the first round. Nadal recently won Roland Garros for a 10th time in his career, but can he repeat this kind of performance at the Wimbledon?

The №5 seeded Stan Wawrinka is also beginning today his participation at London. The Swiss player will have a test against Daniil Medvedev from Russia in the first round. Wawrinka has won three different Grand Slam tournaments in his career, but Wimbledon remains the only one he has never won.

The former US Open champion Marin Cilic faces the experienced German Philipp Kohlschreiber in another match of the first round of Wimbledon. Meanwhile, the №12 seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will have to deal with Cameron Norrie from Great Britain, who will be heavily supported by the crowd.

Kei Nishikori from Japan is also starting today his participation at London. The classy Japanese will face Marco Cecchinato from Italy. Meanwhile, the talented Nick Kyrgios will face Pierre-Hugues Herbert from France at Court №3.

Later today the hard-serving Ivo Karlovic will drop service bombs at Aljaz Bedene from Great Britain. Karlovic has a perfect service for grass, but he has never reached the Wimbledon final. What could he do this year?

These are the most important matches at the men draw on the first day of Wimbledon. Are your favorites playing today?
