SPAL hosts Inter Milan
SPAL hosts Inter Milan at the Stadio Paolo Mazza in a game from the 33th round of the Serie A. Let’s see what is these two teams’ situation right now.
SPAL are already getting prepared for their life in the Serie B. They are 20th in the league at the moment with just 19 points won, so for them it’s a goodbye to the Calcio. Luigi Di Biagio’s team didn’t do enough during the campaign to secure another season in the elite division. SPAL won just five times in 32 games played and it’s never enough for survival.
In their last game SPAL suffered a 4th defeat in the last five matches. They visited Genoa at the Luigi Ferraris and got defeated with 0-2. Once again Di Biagio’s classic 4-4-2 formation didn’t work. In the second half he picked D’Alessandro, Cerri and Sala from the bench, but without much of success.
Inter Milan are currently second in the Serie A with 68 points, but 8 points behind the leader Juventus. For a long time the Nerazzurri were contenders for the Scudetto, but it does not look like this anymore. Most probably Inter won’t beat Juve for the title, but they could keep the second place in front of Lazio and Atalanta.
In their last game Inter recorded their 20th win in the Serie A for the season. Antonio Conte’s boys hosted Torino at the San Siro and they were behind at the halftime, but after the break they showed their fightng spirit. Ashley Young equalised for Inter, while Diego Godin and Lautaro Martinez finished the job.
We believe that Inter Milan are in a very good position to secure another win and remain at second place. SPAL are not a team which could fight with the giants at the moment, so this is a great opportunity for Conte’s team.
